Cloverdale Field House

Paying homage to Surrey’s agricultural heritage, the new fieldhouse at Cloverdale Athletic Park is a study in durability and visibility. The design prioritizes accessibility by placing changerooms, washrooms, and a community room on the main floor. Upstairs, a versatile team room and kitchen feature a floor-to-ceiling window that provides an expansive, goal-post-to-goal-post view of the action. Public Architecture sited the building close to the fields to ensure clear sightlines for parents and spectators. To address the practicalities of a public park, the design avoids recessed entries or hidden alcoves to deter vandalism, utilizing high-performance, proven materials. The result is a robust community hub that balances safety and functionality with a connection to the playing field.
