Project Description

Rooted in an interdisciplinary approach, the renewal of the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts lobby is a physical expression of Simon Fraser University’s founding pedagogical philosophy. This comprehensive renovation harmonizes architecture, interior design, and wayfinding to create a unified public realm that supports SFU’s globally-renowned programs for civic engagement. By enhancing both exterior visibility and internal legibility, the design transforms the inner-city campus into a vibrant “civic stage”—a place specifically engineered for the congregation, networking, and spontaneous interaction of students, faculty, and the surrounding community.
