Derrick completed his Master of Architecture at the University of Waterloo. With meaningful experience domestically and internationally, he brings a specialization in education and is well versed in residential, institutional, urban planning, and landscape projects across private and public sectors. Derrick’s research focuses on artisanship, holistic sustainability, biophilic design theory, and examines the intersection of natural stimuli in architecture. His work explores how natural environments can be integrated into urban settings through ecosystemic-based approaches founded on collaborative, multidisciplinary, and user-engaged design. An excellent communicator, Derrick is deeply interested in enhancing cognitive and physiological well-being through the intersection of environmental psychology and architectural space. The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) has recognized his work for exceptional leadership through design excellence in sustainability.
Derrick is currently supporting Grenfell Elementary School Seismic Upgrade and Mission Secondary School Design Compliance.
