Kathleen brings a depth of research and experience to BC Housing and student residence projects. She spent her formative years as a designer in Dubai, where she studied and acquired work experience that covered graphic design, architectural design, and research, which questioned the conceptual nature of spiritual spaces: what does it mean to express one’s religious self alongside those who may hold different beliefs? Kathleen completed her Master of Urban Design and Housing at McGill University, where her thesis covered the deeply rooted issues of homelessness in Canada, Indigenous identity, and minority housing struggles in a post-colonial landscape. Through design, Kathleen hopes to project a positive impact on minority housing issues, spatial justice, and the built environment.
Kathleen is working on 603 Main, a four-storey, mixed-use affordable housing in downtown Penticton, and UNBC Student Housing in Prince George.
