Project Description
Kwantlen Polytechnic University / Métis Nation Government of BC (KPU / MNBC) Child Care is a new, leading-edge, 61-space facility that will support students, staff, faculty, and the greater community. The building centralizes childhood learning, blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor space, incorporates flexible spaces, uses natural light, and supports ongoing professional development with a hub for finding resources, connections, and dialogue around child care and education. Arranged around a courtyard, the child care shelters children from traffic, defines a campus edge, and supports an active pedestrian realm. The KPU / MNBC Child Care is targeting LEED Gold, Step Code 4, and carbon neutrality.
