SFU Student Residences Phase 3

As an eight-storey, LEED Gold landmark, this 445-bed residence completes the original 1965 residential precinct at SFU Burnaby as envisioned by Erickson / Massey using prefabricated elements. Designed almost entirely during the pandemic, the project relied on rigorous physical and digital modeling to navigate a three-dimensionally complex site. Our process began with rigorous site analysis and multiple accounts evaluation to objectively distill complex variables from daylighting to iconic views into a final form that balances performance with heritage. The result earned unanimous endorsement from a national advisory panel.
