Martina Caniglia

Architect AIBC

Born in Vancouver and raised in Italy, Martina holds an undergraduate degree in Architectural Sciences from Venice and a Master of Architecture from the University of British Columbia, where her thesis work received a design excellence award. Prior to joining PUBLIC, she gained experience in urban planning at the City of Coriano, Italy, and has since contributed to education, residential, and cultural projects in Vancouver. Her design approach is shaped by an interest in urban adaptability, multi-functionality, and economy of means. She is the Project Architect behind two of PUBLIC’s most significant projects: the SFU Burnaby Plaza Renewal, a completed preservation project for one of the most recognized public spaces in Canadian modernist architecture, and SFU Student Residences Phase 3, a mass timber, LEED Gold complex providing housing for 425 upper-year students, currently under construction.
